Displacement diffuser

DISPLACEMENT VENTILATION

Displacement Diffusers for Effective Air Distribution

Displacement diffusers supply air at low velocity directly to the occupied zone, creating a stable ventilation flow with high air quality and good thermal comfort. Repus solutions are developed for energy-efficient ventilation in offices, schools, conference rooms, and other spaces where requirements for comfort, low sound levels, and demand-controlled airflow rates are high.

Short Near Zone

Provides high comfort even close to the supply air diffuser.

Low Air Velocity

Supply air directly to the occupied zone at low air velocity.

Flexible Design

Multiple configurations for different rooms and installation requirements.

Our Types of Displacement Diffusers

Recessed displacement diffusers

Flush-mounted displacement diffusers for discreet integration into walls and suspended ceilings, with low-velocity air supply directly to the occupied zone. The solutions provide a short near zone, excellent comfort, and a clean architectural expression.

Surface-mounted Ceiling & Wall Diffusers

Supply air diffusers for flexible placement on walls or in ceilings, even where flush mounting is not possible. The diffusers combine controlled air distribution with high capacity and robust construction.

Repus supply air diffuser IAF, a floor diffuser integrated into the floor with a simple flush-mounted design.

Floor diffusers

Floor diffusers for flush or surface-mounted installation, developed for supplying air directly to the occupied zone. They are suitable for offices, public environments, and other projects where the installation is integrated into the floor structure.

Tiered-seating diffusers

Tiered-seating diffusers are adapted for installation in risers, tiered seating, and other level differences in the premises. They provide controlled air supply near the occupied zone and are suitable for auditoriums, cinemas, and lecture halls.

Industrial diffusers for high airflow rates

Industrial displacement diffusers for premises with high airflow rates and high requirements for capacity, distribution, and robustness. The products are particularly suited for industry, commercial kitchens, laboratories, halls, and larger event venues.

Customised air terminal devices

We develop supply air diffusers according to the project's technical, architectural, and installation requirements. Flexible Swedish manufacturing enables unique customer dimensions, connections, materials, colors, and air distribution patterns.

How Displacement Ventilation Works

Displacement diffusers supply cool air at low velocity directly to the occupied zone of the room. The air spreads along the floor and is gradually warmed by people, lighting, and other equipment. As the air warms, its density decreases and it rises toward the upper parts of the room, where it can be removed as extract air.

This principle creates clear vertical temperature stratification and makes it possible to concentrate the best air quality in the part of the room where people are present. Contaminated and heated air is simultaneously transported upward and away from the occupied zone.

For the system to function properly, correct sizing of airflow rate, supply air temperature, air velocity, and the diffuser’s air distribution pattern is required. The diffuser’s near zone is particularly important, as excessively high local velocity can cause drafts. Repus displacement diffusers are developed to provide controlled air distribution and a short near zone, even in applications with variable airflow rates.

Our Models of Displacement Diffusers

Repus offers displacement diffusers in multiple configurations for wall, floor, bleacher, and other installation conditions. Below you will find our models with different geometries, capacities, and customization options.

IN – Flush-mounted displacement diffuser

IN is a supply air diffuser for installation in walls or ceilings with a perforated front that conceals REPUS adjustable nozzles, which distribute the air over the entire front surface with a very short near zone.

RA – Half-round displacement diffuser

RA is a half-round supply air diffuser that can be used in all types of installations. With a plinth, the diffuser can be connected from below.

RAX – Half-round supply air diffuser with adjustable nozzles

RAX is a half-round diffuser with nozzles adjustable from the outside of the diffuser, providing an adjustable near zone. The diffusers have an extra high induction of room air.

IRF – Flush-mounted circular floor / tiered-seating diffuser

Circular floor diffusers for installation in tiered seating or floors. IRF.125 is adapted for risers and works well even with low pressure drops. IRF.100 and IRF.250 are mounted on the floor.

K – multi-way square displacement diffuser

The K-series has two-, three-, or four-way air distribution in versions KC, KD, and KE. The diffusers are particularly suited for high airflow rates in industrial premises, commercial kitchens, and event venues.

PN – Rectangular displacement diffuser – surface-mounted

PN are wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted supply air diffusers in modern design that handle high airflow rates. REPUS® nozzles are installed in the diffusers.

IX – Displacement ceiling diffuser with adjustable side slot

Rectangular supply air diffuser for flush mounting with a variable side slot. The diffuser has REPUS nozzles that provide a radial air distribution pattern and adjustable airflow direction.

IAF – Flush-mounted rectangular floor / tiered-seating diffuser

IAF floor diffusers are adapted for flush mounting in floors and tiered seating and can be used in all types of installations where diffusers are recessed into the floor.

PA – Surface-mounted supply air diffuser for walls and ceilings – extra durable

PA are low velocity air diffusers intended primarily for use with high airflow rates. The diffuser has a profiled front.

PD – Ceiling and wall diffuser for surface-mounted installation – high airflow rate

PDC/PDR are low velocity air diffusers with 3-way air distribution and are used for high airflow rates – ceiling-mounted as well as on walls.

RV – Curved supply air diffuser – slim design

RVC is a curved supply air diffuser that can be used in all types of projects. The diffusers can be connected from the underside with a supplementary plinth.

RB – Circular displacement diffuser

Circular supply air diffusers for floor installation. RBC can be used in all types of premises and can be connected from the underside and also from the top.

VR – Quarter-round displacement diffuser

VR is a quarter-round supply air diffuser that can be used in various types of premises. The diffusers can be connected from the underside with a supplementary plinth.

VRX – Quarter-round displacement diffuser – ceiling and wall installation

VRX is a quarter-round supply air diffuser that fits equally well in wall/ceiling angles as in the corners of a room. The diffusers can be connected from the underside with a plinth.

RVX – Arc-shaped supply air diffuser with adjustable nozzles – wall and ceiling installation

RVX is a curved supply air diffuser that fits equally well on walls as in ceilings. The diffusers can be connected from the underside with a supplementary plinth.

CP – Rectangular displacement diffuser

CP is a supply air diffuser with an extra high finish and design, fully welded box without rivets. Available in painted or stainless steel.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

Displacement Diffusers for Different Project Requirements

Repus displacement diffusers are developed to create controlled air distribution in the occupied zone with low air velocity and a short near zone. The range includes multiple configurations for different installation principles, airflow rates, and architectural conditions.

The diffusers can be adapted to the project’s requirements for dimensions, connection, air distribution pattern, and configuration. This gives ventilation consultants and contractors greater flexibility when designing schools, offices, conference rooms, and other spaces where air quality and thermal comfort are important.

Repus has developed and manufactured supply air diffusers since 1977, with a focus on air distribution, energy efficiency, and practically feasible solutions.
