OUR HISTORY

Repus Ventilation AB

Repus Ventilation AB is a Swedish family-owned company that develops and manufactures supply air diffusers for professional ventilation projects. The company’s history dates back to 1977, when the Repus nozzle was developed by the then owner. Building on this technology, Repus has continued to work with air distribution that combines good comfort, low sound levels, and energy-efficient operation.

THE ORIGIN

Our history and innovation

Repus originates from the development of the Repus nozzle in 1977. The technology is based on distributing the supply air using the dynamic pressure in the diffuser, making it possible to spread air evenly in the room while maintaining low pressure drops.

Since then, Repus has further developed the technology for modern ventilation systems, where requirements for energy efficiency, sound level, comfort, and demand-controlled airflow rates have become increasingly important. Our focus remains to manufacture supply air diffusers that provide good air distribution with low energy use.

RESEARCH

Research and development

Repus has collaborated with the University of Gävle within the Reesbe research programme. The work has included studies of air distribution using so-called confluent jets ventilation, where several interacting air jets are used to create efficient air distribution in the occupied zone.

As part of the research, Harald Andersson, together with researchers at the University of Gävle and Linköping University, studied how supply air diffusers with Repus technology perform in different types of room environments. The studies addressed, among other things, thermal comfort, air quality, heat removal, and energy efficiency.

In 2020, a study was published in Energies examining different designs of low velocity air diffusers with confluent jets in a classroom environment. The results showed that the solutions could provide good air quality and efficient heat removal, while airflow rate, supply air temperature, and the diffuser design had a major impact on comfort and energy efficiency.

In 2022, a further study was published in Energies, this time focusing on a conference room. The study compared different nozzle configurations and showed that larger nozzle arrays with multiple rows and lower impulse could contribute to better air quality, more efficient heat removal, and lower air velocities at ankle level, reducing the risk of draughts.

The research provides Repus with a technical basis for continued product development. It also demonstrates the importance of adapting the diffuser design, airflow rate, and nozzle configuration to the room’s use and load.

SUSTAINABILITY

Quality and sustainability

Repus products are manufactured in Sweden and are designed for a long service life. Production takes place in Kungsängen, which gives us close proximity to manufacturing and enables straightforward, continuous quality control. We use robust materials and solutions adapted for buildings where the installations are expected to operate for many years.

For us, sustainability is primarily about low energy use, reliable function, and a long technical service life. The products must be dependable in operation and possible to handle in a reasonable way when they eventually need to be replaced.

OUR VALUES

Design and adaptation

Each building has its own technical and architectural conditions. Therefore, Repus offers both standard products and project-specific adaptations. This may involve special dimensions, technical adjustments, or solutions that need to be coordinated with suspended ceilings, room design, and other installations.

To facilitate design work, we provide technical documentation and digital support for, among other things, MagiCAD and Revit. This makes it easier for consultants and designers to specify Repus products directly in drawings and BIM models.

COMMITMENT

Our way of working

From our operations in Bro, between Stockholm and Enköping, we work closely with ventilation consultants, contractors, architects, and clients. Our role is to contribute technical expertise in supply air diffusers and air distribution, and to help projects find solutions that work in practice.

As a family-owned company, we value clear communication, accessibility, and long-term relationships. We are happy to be involved early in the project to adapt the solution to the building’s requirements and create good conditions for design, installation, and operation.
